Imperfect Day

I wake to find a most imperfect day
And, in spite of my reflections,
The road ahead is one big wonderous way
But I have took the wrong direction
And now I'll have to stay in an imperfect day.

It doesn't matter where the wind blows from
The same old frown is stuck to your face.
And although you were the chosen one
You punched St. Nicholas in the face
And now you'll have to stay in an imperfect day.

The opportunities go past.
I make no secret of my past.

I wake to find a most imperfect day.
Something bad is bound to happen.
The best intentions seem to melt away.
Give me something white to blacken
So that I can stay in an imperfect day.

And all the indications are
I chase a non-existent star.
